Richard Kurz

Founder/Principal, President and Co-Managing Partner of Kurz Group - Rick is actively involved in all aspects of operations for Kurz Group including client representation, compliance and appeal of commercial real estate and business personal property. Prior to founding Kurz Group in 1987, he was involved in sales, leasing and ownership of commercial income producing property. He has served as a Board Member on the TAPTP Legislative Committee during key sessions of the Texas Legislature. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University in 1980. Rick is a licensed Senior Property Tax Consultant, member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), The Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and is a Texas Real Estate Broker.

Jeffrey Kurz

Principal, Executive Vice President and Co-Managing Partner of Kurz Group - Jeff is actively involved in all aspects of operations for Kurz Group including client representation, compliance and appeal of commercial real estate and business personal property. Prior to joining Kurz Group in 1990, Jeff was a commercial real estate broker specializing in retail leasing and the sale of land and income producing properties. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in real estate and marketing from Southern Methodist University in 1982. He is a licensed Property Tax Consultant, member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and is a Texas Real Estate Broker.

Kathy Johnston

Office Manager, Property Tax Consultant - Kathy joined Kurz Group in 1992 having previously worked as a Customer Service Manager at the Dallas Central Appraisal District for six years. Kathy is in charge of residential property appeals, tax bill collection and auditing, and all aspects of the office management. She is a licensed property tax consultant and a member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP).

Erol Orer

Senior Property Tax Consultant - Erol began his career in property tax consulting in 1990 and has represented property owners in property tax appeal settlements throughout Texas and the United States. Erol joined Kurz Group in 1993, specializing in all levels of commercial real estate appeal representation, including complex cases. In addition to client representation involving compliance and appeal of commercial real estate and business personal property, he played a critical role in the development and integration of the analytical tools and materials currently used in the appeals/negotiations process for Kurz Group. Erol is a licensed Senior Property Tax Consultant, a member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP), and the Texas Association of Assessing Officers (TAAO).

Terri Goodenough

Business Personal Property Appeal Director, Property Tax Consultant - Terri began her career in property tax in 1983 and joined Kurz Group in 1995. She spent 8 years with the Dallas Central Appraisal District Commercial Real Estate Department where she was a Commercial Supervisor. Her areas of specialization include management of personal property compliance and appeal in all states, Freeport exemptions, and abatement compliance. She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Texas - Arlington, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. Terri is a licensed property tax consultant, a member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and Texas Association of Assessing Officers (TAAO).

LaVada Mills

Property Tax Consultant - LaVada began her career in property tax in 1987 and joined Kurz Group in 1999. She spent 11 years with the Dallas Central Appraisal District Personal Property Department where she was a Business Personal Property Supervisor and in charge of all Utility Appraisal. At Kurz Group, she manages business personal property compliance, negotiations and appeals throughout the United States. In addition, LaVada handles all aircraft valuation and appeals. A graduate of the University of Texas – Dallas, LaVada earned a Bachelor of Arts – Economics and Finance in 1988. She is a licensed property tax consultant, a member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and the Texas Association of Assessing Officers (TAAO).

Clint Templeton

Property Tax Consultant - Clint has been involved in property tax since 1991. Before joining Kurz Group in 2001, he spent 10 years with the Dallas Central Appraisal District where he was a Senior Appraiser in the Commercial Department. Clint’s specialization is in commercial real estate tax appeals, negotiations, and representation in the state of Texas. Clint is a 1989 graduate of the University of North Texas, a licensed property tax consultant, a member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and the Texas Association of Assessing Officers (TAAO).

Laura Jordan

Property Tax Consultant - Laura began her career in property tax in 1991 where she spent 10 years with the Dallas Central Appraisal District. She joined Kurz Group in 2001 and possesses expertise in all aspects of ad valorem taxation and appraisal district operations. At Kurz Group, she handles business personal property compliance, negotiations, and appeals throughout the United States. Mark Vandagriff

Property Tax Consultant – Mark joined Kurz Group in 2006 as a tax consultant. Before joining Kurz Group, Mark was Regional Vice President of the Burr/Wolff/North Texas Region for nine years; Vice President of Mediplex Property Management, Inc., a developer of medical office buildings and outpatient facilities; Property Manager for Trammel Crow Company, a developer/manager of commercial real estate assets. Mark received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He is a licensed Texas Property Tax Consultant, Texas Real Estate Broker and a certified Real Property Administrator (RPA). Mark has over 20 years of property management and development experience in commercial, industrial, medical and retail assets. Mark is an active member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP), Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).

Allen Shryock

Director of Sales - Allen has been with Kurz Group as Director of Sales since 2008, where he is responsible for new business development.  Allen oversees all sales & marketing activity for Real Estate and Business Personal Property Tax consulting and compliance services.  He has been involved in promoting the property tax consulting industry since 1997, when he began his career as a research analyst with a national property tax consulting firm.  He has been involved in selling property tax services in several capacities over the past 11 years, most recently the property tax division of a Big 4 Public Accounting firm, where he sold Real Estate tax consulting and appeal services on a national scale.  Allen has been actively involved in several industry organizations, including IPT and TAPTP, and is a licensed Texas property tax consultant.
